Voss Events Pty Ltd ("Voss Events") has a firm commitment to privacy in accordance with the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our information practices.

This notice applies to all information collected by or submitted to Voss Events.

Our web site ("Web Site") contains links to other web sites operated by third parties. Voss Events is not responsible for the privacy practices or policies of such third party web sites.

The Information We Collect

We request information from you when you register for a conference or when you request further information about Voss Events or about our conferences. We typically ask for your name, title, organisation, address, e-mail address, telephone number, and fax number. We request payment for conferences to accompany the registration or to follow shortly afterwards. Payment can be made by cheque, but you can choose to give us credit card details for payment, by email, mail or telephone.

How We Use Information

Voss Events only uses your personal information for specific purposes.

The personal information you provide to us will be kept confidential and will be used to support your customer relationship with Voss Events, and to notify you of special offers, updated information and new products and services from Voss Events. Agents or contractors of Voss Events who are given access to your personal information will be required to keep the information confidential and not use it for any other purpose than to carry out the services they are performing for Voss Events.

Voss Events may enhance or merge your information collected with data from third parties for purposes of marketing products or services to you.

Circumstances may arise where we are required to disclose your personal information to third parties for purposes other than to support your customer relationship with Voss Events, such as in connection with a corporate divestiture or dissolution where we sell all or a portion of our business or assets (including our associated customer lists containing your personal information), or if disclosure is required by law or is pertinent to judicial or governmental investigations or proceedings.

In instances where the Law Society of New South Wales, the Law Institute of Victoria and the Queensland Law Society and any other relevant law society so requests, we will keep your records for the purposes of CLE or CDP records or for other requiremnts of those or similar bodies in accordance with their requirements.

In respect of credit card details with which you have provided to us, we will not enter them onto any computer or machine except the EFTPOS machine through which we process payment. We will keep registration forms with these details or emails or other notes with these details on only in a locked filing cabinet and only where the same forms contain other information which you have given us, such as name, address and other contact details, for the sole purpose of contacting you about future events and products.

You can opt out of receiving further marketing from Voss Events at any time by contacting us by letter, email or telephone.

We will send you information about our various products and services, or other products and services we feel may be of interest to you by fax, email, mail or any other menas of communication ("Direct Mailings"). Only Voss Events (or agents or contractors working on behalf of Voss Events and under confidentiality agreements) will send you these Direct Mailings. If you do not want to receive Direct Mailings, simply tell us when you give us your personal information.
